At The Be Safe Group, we are deeply committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children, young people, and adults at risk who access our online safety courses.
Our courses cover sensitive topics including grooming awareness, sexual assault prevention, child protection, online safety, and abuse prevention. We recognise that these subjects can be emotionally challenging and take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously.

Safeguarding Policy
1. Introduction and Purpose
The Be Safe Group provides online safety courses including content on grooming, sexual assault prevention, abuse awareness, and child protection. This policy applies to all staff, contractors, directors, and anyone involved in the creation, delivery, or support of our courses.
2. Legal and Regulatory Framework
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK Data Protection Act 2018
- Children Act 1989 and 2004
- Working Together to Safeguard Children (latest statutory guidance)
- EU and national child protection legislation
- Keeping Children Safe in Education (where relevant)
3. Key Principles
- The welfare of the child or adult at risk is paramount.
- All learners have the right to feel safe, respected, and listened to.
- We maintain a culture of vigilance, transparency, and accountability.
- Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

5. Safeguarding Responsibilities
All team members receive appropriate safeguarding awareness training. We follow safer recruitment practices for staff or contractors who may interact with learners.
6. Online Safety and Platform Security
- All courses are delivered through a secure learning management system.
- We do not operate open forums or live chat that could enable harmful contact.
- Parental controls and supervision are strongly encouraged for all child users.
- We comply with GDPR Article 8 regarding children's consent and data processing.
7. Data Protection and Record Keeping
All safeguarding records are stored securely and separately from general learner data. Access is strictly limited to the Designated Safeguarding Lead and authorised personnel.
8. Parental Responsibility
- Supervising their child's use of our courses
- Discussing sensitive topics with their child
- Raising any concerns about course suitability or impact
9. Staff and Contractor Conduct
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times
- Never contact learners outside the official course platform
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately
10. Monitoring and Review
This policy is reviewed annually or following any significant incident or legislative change.
